Obstetrics Care

Choosing your Obstetrician is important to both you and your partner. For the duration of your pregnancy and delivery, you will be in close contact with Dr Parashar who will guide you through each step of this significant part of your lives.

Dr Parashar will advise and encourage you during every step of your pregnancy. She will work with you to implement your own birth plan, from your first visit, to the birth of your child and beyond. Dr Parashar's team of highly experienced specialists will support and assist you during your entire care with us.

  • Any blood test results or ultrasound scans from your GP

1 - 12 Weeks

  • Changes in You: Nausea, tiredness, sore breasts, fatigue, mood swings, and increased urination frequency.


  • Changes in Baby: From a single cell to a peach like size, development of bones, eyes, hair, nails, digestive system, brain and heart.


  • Things to Do: Scheduling visit with Dr Parashar, Antenatal tests and screening, genetic & chromosomal screening, evaluation of lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, nutrition and exercise, choosing the hospital and antenatal classes, Travel plans during pregnancy, confirming pregnancy coverage with the private health fund and budgeting for the baby.

13 - 28 Weeks

  • Changes in You: Body adjusting to the new changes, baby bump starting to show, mild congestion and swelling, dizziness, mild abdominal aches, Varicose Veins, mild to moderate perception of baby movements.


  • Changes in the Baby: Development of hair and nails, a fully developed digestive system, development of senses, increased limb movements and increase in size.


  • Things to Do: Detailed Morphology scans, repeat antenatal tests including Glucose testing, Anti-D for negative blood groups, Planning maternity leave and workplace arrangements, vaccination, looking into baby names and babymoon (a short holiday before the baby arrives).

29 - 40 Weeks

  • Changes in You: Baby bump quite prominent, abdominal aches, heartburn, fatigue, Varicose veins, Braxton Hicks contractions, backache, stretch marks, clumsiness.


  • Changes in the Baby: Bones, heart, brain, increased co-ordination and senses, increased baby movement.


  • Things to do: Growth and welfare scan, getting nursery and baby essentials sorted, planning for the birth, role of your partner and getting ready for the hospital
